Patchouli Essential Oil is used in aromatherapy for symptomatic relief of acne; to relieve minor skin irritation, cuts, bruises, and burns; as a nervine and calmative; and as a carminative and antispasmodic for symptomatic relief of digestive discomfort.

Non-medicinal Use:
Earthy and arousing, rich and musky.  Helps to re-awaken the creative desire and return one to the inner authority.

What is a Steam Distilled Essential Oil?
The plant material, in this case, the leaves, is placed into a still; steam is then passed through, which causes the oil to vaporize, the mixture of steam and essential oil then passes through a series of cooling tubes in order to condense the mixture back to a liquid form.

This distillate is then traditionally collected in a Florentine flask which further separates the essential oil from the water-based hydrosol. Traditionally, the majority of essential oils are steam distilled.
